Is Washing Machine Motor A DC or an AC?

Most use an ac motor even a brushless dc motor with permanent magnets is still an ac motor with a variable frequency drive running it on 3 phase. Some of the older washing machines use a brushed universal motor that will run on ac or dc but are run on ac because it is convenient.
